What you’ll do as an Automotive Service Technician (Mechanic):
+ Perform efficient and expert work on repair orders, in accordance with dealership, state and factory standards
+ Address customers’ primary concerns with diagnosis, repair and quality control to attain ‘Fixed First Visit’ expectations
+ Perform the Ken Garff Electronic Multi Point Inspection along with video on every vehicle; immediately notify Service Advisor if the car has additional recommendations or if more time is needed to complete the repair
+ Master our Dealer Management System (DMS) for work distribution, electronic inspections, repair quotes, communication and time keeping
+ Complete required training as assigned
+ Maintain cleanliness throughout workspace and in all customer vehicles

**Overview**
This position responds to the customers’ needs for service of equipment through maintenance, diagnosis and repair of refrigeration, heating & air-conditioning systems commonly installed in supermarkets, convenient stores and cold storage facilities with assistance/direction from a Master or Lead Service Technician.
**Responsibilities**
+ Responsible for performing prescribed, routine maintenance procedures on supermarket refrigeration system and self-contained temperature-controlled merchandisers with direction from a Master or Lead Service Technician.
+ Responsible performing preventative maintenance compressor change assists, leak searching and coil washing with direction from a Master or Lead Service Technician.
+ Responsible for continually acquiring knowledge through on-the-job training which includes new product development, service bulletins, computer-based training and issues.
+ Responsible for completing necessary documents (work tickets and timesheets) and electronic communication in a thorough, accurate and timely manner.
+ Responsible for demonstrating ability to utilize a hand-held computer to complete necessary customer paperwork and invoicing requirements.
+ Responsible for maintenance and management of truck inventory in an accurate, neat an orderly manner as well as adhere to vehicle maintenance program guidelines (if applicable).
+ The ability to identify and use the standard tools of the trade, including refrigerant recovery equipment.

+ Perform service on conventional refrigeration systems, parallel rack systems, walk-in coolers, and other commonly used refrigeration units for supermarkets and convenient stores with direction from a Master or Lead Service Technician.
+ Demonstrate basic understanding of refrigerant and oil properties, sub-cooling, superheat, psychometrics, copper-to-copper brazing, single phase compressor components, and refrigerated fixture airflow.
+ Read and understand temperature and pressure charts.
+ Conduct basic electrical troubleshooting and refrigeration cycle diagnostics.
+ Safely handle R290 refrigerant and other hazardous materials such as dry nitrogen.
+ Responsible for de-icing case and walk-in evaporator coils, replacing fan motors, and washing condenser coils.
+ Basic understanding of system evacuation and charging, system pump down, and system defrost.
+ Additional duties as assigned.

+ Monitors safe and efficient operations of HVAC/refrigeration systems in accordance with departmental requirements; corrects deficiencies according to PM/CM and manufacturers specifications.

+ Participate in the building management system. Monitor design parameters for status and efficiency. Assist in programming recommendations for the system.
+ Track refrigerant loss, procurement, and storage per government standards.
+ Install, maintain and repair all field devices for the Temperature Tracking System.
+ Participate in the testing of HVAC shutdown by duct smoke detectors.
+ Performs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) maintenance on air conditioning units, fans, air handlers, water heaters, converters, duct work and system controls.

**Skills and Qualifications:**

**What you will do**
+ As an Associate Field Service Representative, you are responsible for supporting a service territory and for the repair and delivery of equipment
+ You will perform all required quality control checks and preventative maintenance, global hold repairs, and wireless upgrades

The Service Technician is responsible for delivering, installing, servicing, and maintaining Martin wear components and products on assigned service routes. The Service Technician will work closely with sales staff to identify sales opportunities within the service route. The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction by delivering the desired customer service experience to maximize customer retention and increase profitability. This position is hourly with the opportunity to earn commission and will require travel, including some nights away from home. The salary range is between $25 to $37 per hour depending on skills and location.
Specific Responsibilities:
+ Delivers, maintains, installs, and services Martin products as assigned, following standard work instructions while demonstrating safe and efficient work habits. Installation of Martin products is required and must be performed as efficiently and safely as possible.
+ Communicates project status to supervisor, fellow workers, and customers continuously.
+ Completes work individually and expeditiously to complete assigned projects, including maintenance agreements in assigned territories as required.
+ Provides daily sales transactions and documents.
+ Follows assigned routes and schedules as provided.
+ Ensures the warehouse and vehicle are always appropriately stocked, cleaned, and maintained with inventory . Must complete weekly cycle counts of warehouse and vehicles with Martin equipment inventory assigned to employee.
+ Operates vehicle safely, following all traffic laws and obeying Martin’s Fleet Policy. Adheres to all DOT policies and regulations.
+ Will be required to produce quotes and reports for Martin customers for all conveyor products that will be serviced in the field. Additional reports may be required.
+ Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows all safety regulations related to the working conditions. Inspects work assignments and work areas wholly and periodically. This will include supervising all subcontractors.
+ Recommends service route & process improvements to the team.
+ Conducts training for assigned employees to ensure the necessary quality, safety, operational, and technical skill requirements. Ensures that customer safety rules are followed and applied daily. Complies with OSHA/MSHA requirements regarding safety issues, use of safety equipment, and material safety data sheets.
Education, Experience & Training:
+ High school diploma or equivalent. Two-year technical or vocational degree preferred.
+ A strong mechanical or conveyor maintenance background would be beneficial, or one or more years of job-related experience.
+ Some sales background would be beneficial.
+ Must be at least 21 years of age. Driver qualifications must be met where specified based upon position requirements and established guidelines including Federal DOT regulations.
