Position Description
An employee who is a Journeyman and who performs all phases of construction, operation and maintenance of transmission and distribution overhead and underground lines in accordance with Company standards and other Company and/or governmental rules and regulations.
Position-Related Responsibilities
¨ Guiding the work of Apprentices and Helpers working with him/her.
¨ Assembly of wood pole electrical lines and components.
¨ Installation of underground conduit systems.
¨ Installation of URD systems.
¨ Connection of all types of transformers and other equipment used on overhead and underground lines.
¨ Drive and operate all equipment to accomplish daily work and, and possess a CDL Operators license.
¨ Perform switching and install “hold tags” on the electrical systems, as required.
¨ Maintain a high level of awareness and responsibility for environmental considerations that impact them, their jobs and the Company to the level of their knowledge, training and experience.
¨ Perform emergency service restoration
¨ Perform assigned work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Company practices and procedures.
¨ Subject to on-call responsibilities which include the requirement to respond in a timely manner.
¨ Must reside in UES Santa Cruz service territory.

¨ This employee will be qualified to climb poles and operate aerial lifts and other construction equipment, and will be expected to work on energized equipment at any voltage level in conformance with training and safe work practices.
¨ Completion of an accredited Lineman/Cable Apprenticeship Program or equivalent
¨ Uses technical knowledge of UES’s distribution system and policies to creatively solve problems dealing with both internal and external customers.

**Position Summary**
In this role you will be responsible for installing and maintaining electronic security systems. Performing preventive maintenance requirements. Performing inspections, evaluations, and inventory.
Essential responsibilities and activities include but are not limited to:
+ Leading teams on small moderately complex installation projects.
+ Conducting and documenting daily tool box talks.
+ Installing all head end equipment at both the local and global level per design packages.

+ Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours) or
+ Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program or

+ Required Progressive Experience:
+ 8+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs
+ 3+ years of the above experience must be focused in electronic security systems
+ Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills.
+ Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
+ Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
+ Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.
**Desired / Advantageous Qualifications**
+ Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems
+ Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone Intercom Systems Airphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows operating systems & certifications and experience in installation of said systems.4
**Physical Abilities/Requirements:**
+ Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
+ Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
+ Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
+ Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
+ Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
+ May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
