Job Purpose

Principal Accountabilities
+ Use data collection in ERP software to log time.
+ Read work order, flow sheets and part drawing to determine all aspects of the job to be manufactured.

+ Turn in first article and final inspection to Quality Assurance to verify dimensions and dimensions that were unable to be checked manually.

· Must have firsthand knowledge of the manufacturing capabilities in milling, turning, grinding, heat-treating, brazing, and general shop math.

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Loads, Unloads, Starts, and Stops Machines.
· Sets the feeds and speeds of machines during the machining process.
· Watches gauges, dials, and other key indicators to make sure machines are working properly and work-pieces meet quality standards.
· Monitors machines during operation in order to detect dull cutting tools and excessive vibration.
· Measures dimensions of finished work-pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
· Calculates and sets machine movements according to drawing specs.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Knowledge of basic hand tools, including their uses and maintenance.
· Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
· Ability to control the operations of machining equipment and systems.
· Basic mathematics knowledge, particularly Trigonometry .
Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent. 0-3 years of experience in relevant field preferred.
· 5S and Lean Manufacturing training.

We are seeking experienced machinists to join our team at Honeywell's Phoenix R&O facility.
As a Machinist Level III, your primary responsibilities will involve operating and maintaining machining equipment for the aviation industry. This will include CNC machine operation and maintenance, ensuring that all work meets the quality standards and specifications of the aviation industry.
Reporting directly to the Machining Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in the efficiency and productivity of our repair and overhaul operations. Your attention to detail and expertise in machining will contribute to the success of our processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC machines according to specifications
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments for quality and efficiency
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet aviation industry standards
Work with cross-functional teams to optimize repair and overhaul processes
Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

YOU MUST HAVE:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a machinist, with expertise in operating CNC and/or manual mills and lathes
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings specific to aviation components
Basic knowledge of machining processes and equipment used in aviation repair and overhaul
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
WE VALUE:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Technical certification or associate degree in machining or a related field
Experience with programming and editing CNC programs for aviation components
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their application in aviation repair and overhaul
Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams
Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience in the aviation industry or FAA Repair and overhaul environment
A&P License (Airframe and Powerplant License) is a plus
Experience with SAP ERP systems is a plus
