The City of Chandler Information Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as anIT Data Architect Principal Analyst. The position is scheduled to work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day.

Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. Our new IT Enterprise Data Architect will provide the vision and strategy for the city’s enterprise data analytics program while partnering with the application managers and business leaders to understand the evolving requirements. The best candidate will have a strong technical acumen of data warehouse/data lake implementations, experience delivering standards and procedures as well as strong leadership, short and long term planning, and project management skills.

The purpose of this position is to serve as a subject matter expert and perform tasks that contribute to the organization’s use of data driven decisions. The enterprise data architect will develop a detailed knowledge of the underlying data and data products and become the subject matter expert on content, current and potential future uses of data, and the interrelationship between core elements of the data repository. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, utilizing initiative to anticipate needs in areas of responsibility, excellent written and verbal communications skills as well as the ability to interact professionally with diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts and possessing strong analytical and problem-solving skills are preferred. Knowledge and skills in business analytics, key BI trends, reporting standards, project management and clear presentation of data coupled with the ability to continually learn and demonstrate new skills via hands on training, classroom training and self-study are essential for an employee in this role.

Minimum qualifications


A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field5 years of experience with information technology programs and services, with demonstrated expertise in enterprise data management and related technologiesValid Driver's License with acceptable driving recordAny equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired qualifications


Experience with enterprise data management technologies, including database platforms, ETL tools, and SQL Server as well as data modeling, both logical and physical. (Prefer MS Azure Synapse Analytics)Fundamental Cloud Infrastructure experience (MS Azure preferred)Experience developing Machine Learning ModelsStrong experience in Export Load Transform (ELT) ingestion operations

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
