As a VECE Hardware Engineer II with Honeywell, you will be a key contributor to the redesign and development of cutting-edge hardware solutions. You will play a critical role in guiding and driving the hardware redesign process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable products. You will work out of our St Charles, IL location.

The Hardware Value Engineer at Honeywell is responsible for driving and supporting projects that focuses on cost reductions and productivity The role requires an entrepreneurial approach to apply hardware design expertise in a global environment while coordinating with cross functional team in design centers, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams to generate and implement cost saving. This role includes identification of product cost savings opportunities through alternate supplier qualification, product design standardization, and factory transfers.

The annual base salary range for this position is $115K -$135K. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Guide and drive the hardware redesign

+ Conduct hands-on redesign activities of an existing product using DFX (design for manufacturing / testability)

+ Develop test plans and test procedures to implement changes.

+ Build and test prototypes and follow up on implementation in production.

+ Participate in kaizen/ideation events with the Value Engineering / Component Engineering team and R&D to Manage VE/CE project liaising with R&D, manufacturing, sourcing and commercial teams to define the work. Monitor progress and manage risks to achieve successful completion.

+ Review / modify the current electronic board design considering the current technologies in terms of component, materials & process, propose ideations to reduce BoM cost by redesign & optimization.

MUST HAVE

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

+ 2+ years of experience in hardware design and development

+ Strong knowledge of hardware design ethics and methodologies

+ Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools

+ Experience with hardware testing and validation

+ Excellent problem-solving and thoughtful skills

+ Strong communication and collaboration abilities

WE VALUE

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

+ Strong insight into industry standards and best practices

+ Experience with high-speed digital and analog circuit design

+ Knowledge of FPGA and microcontroller-based designs

+ Experience with high-speed digital design and signal integrity analysis

+ Knowledge of industry standards and regulations

+ Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
