Join a team that designs, develops, and integrates highly complex inertial navigation systems within Honeywell Aerospace. As a Senior Advanced Project Engineer for the Defense Surface Navigation Systems Team, you will be integral in supporting the development of system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers while beating the project cost, schedule, and technical goals. Our team is fully integrated in every aspect of a product’s life cycle – from working with a customer on a concept and subsequent proposal, through development, verification, production, and even obsolescence refreshes. You will work across disciplines within the Electronic Solutions Engineering Sensing, Guidance and Navigation business to drive growth and reach critical business milestones.

This position will be based out of Clearwater, FL.

Key Responsibilities

· Using your project leadership skills and technical engineering aptitude, you will be instrumental in guiding and managing advanced engineering projects for our Surface Navigation product portfolio

· Participate in and lead proposals and cost estimation, schedule preparation, and resource forecasting

· Clearly and concisely convey subtle or complex messages via presentations and in writing to a variety of audiences including leadership and external customers

· Consult with suppliers, cross-organizational teams, and international partners to ensure product and project compliance

· Provide project oversight of day-to-day activities to achieve on-time and on-budget execution

· Oversight of risk management process and baseline change processes

· Drive the EVM (Earned Value Management) process and effective management operating process (MOS).

· “Jump in” and support technical team as needed with removing and/or escalating project roadblocks

· Identify and execute cost, schedule, and technical efficiency improvements

· Travel within US and/ or internationally: 10%

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics

· 5+ years’ of experience in Engineering experience

· 2+ years’ of Project Engineering or Project Management experience

WE VALUE

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

· Knowledge of the systems development lifecycle

· Individuals that quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts.

· Experience evaluating earned value results and devising corrective action to return project to cost and schedule baseline

· Experience in schedule development, baseline management, and negotiating/coordinating scope changes

· Experience in generating basis of estimates (BOE), and familiarity with TINA-compliant estimates

· Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry or a similar industry

· Experience with MIL STDs and other industry standards

· Leading diverse and global teams

· Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.

· Ability to adapt dictated by project changes

· Multi-tasking and the ability to manage a variety of complicated tasks and people

· Promote customer relationships
