For more information, visit SolomonEdwards Position Summary: As a Project Consultant in the Controllership team of a leading technology company, you will be instrumental in driving finance-related projects that optimize and enhance operational accounting processes. This role includes active participation in the month-end close process, where you will support accurate and efficient accounting operations. Combining your accounting expertise with data analytics skills, you’ll leverage SQL to provide insights and streamline accounting workflows, supporting a robust financial infrastructure within a dynamic, tech-driven environment. Essential Duties: • Lead and manage cross-functional projects across accounting, operations, and IT teams, focusing on enhancing operational accounting processes and promoting best practices. • Use SQL to query, analyze, and interpret large data sets to support operational accounting decisions, identify trends, and provide actionable insights. • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency within operational accounting workflows, developing and implementing strategies to optimize financial systems. • Collaborate with the accounting team to support day-to-day operational accounting activities, including month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and consistency. • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with accounting, technical, and operational teams, acting as a liaison to translate operational accounting needs into data-driven solutions and system improvements. • Document project objectives, processes, and outcomes, and train accounting and non-accounting teams on newly implemented systems and best practices. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, focusing on operational accounting areas such as month-end close and journal entries. • CPA or CMA certification preferred. • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Skills and Job-Specific Competencies: • Proficiency in SQL, with demonstrated experience in querying and analyzing data for business insights. • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and deliver on cross-functional initiatives. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Knowledge of technical accounting standards, such as revenue recognition (ASC 606) and lease accounting (ASC 842). • Proven experience working in a technology-driven, fast-paced environment. Salary Range: SolomonEdwards values your unique and individual experience and background. As such, we take a comprehensive approach when determining compensation for our roles. The compensation for this specific role is based on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to, education, licensure and certifications, location, experience, and training.
