Job Description

The Community Program Coordinator, Intermediate at the Center for Service and Volunteerism (CSV) is responsible for recruitment and training of our AmeriCorps members, ensuring they have quality experiences. The Community Program Coordinator, Intermediate works with our team to generate applicants; interview, select, and orient members; conduct in-service trainings and plan/coordinate member service events; conduct site visits and check-ins; and represent CSV at various events, conferences, and trainings. Currently, CSV engages more than 100 members in AmeriCorps service each year and operates the College Support and Retention Initiative, Public Health AmeriCorps, Environmental Literacy Corps, and Volunteers in Service to America programs and partners with dozens of organizations across Arizona. Recruitment - 30%

• Promote AmeriCorps opportunities at events, meetings, in classrooms, and in community organizations
• Represent CSV at tabling events, community events, conferences, and other opportunities to raise AmeriCorps' profile in the community
• Generate applicants for positions with postings on social media and job platforms
• Screen, interview, and select AmeriCorps members, guiding them through the application process
• Conduct reference checks
• Assist with the development of messaging, promotional materials, and recruitment strategies
• Assist Operations Manager with onboarding tasks, including initiating AmeriCorps background checks for members

Member Support - 25%

• Conduct check-ins to ensure members are having impactful, quality experiences
• Plan/Coordinate recognitions, service days, volunteer opportunities, and other events to engage and recognize members and mentors
• Assist in collecting data from members
• Provide timely referrals to resources such as networks, on-campus or community resources, and member assistance programs to members when needed

Training - 25%

• Orient incoming AmeriCorps members
• Promote trainings, workshops, and other events to members and others in the community
• Track and evaluate member/partner agency training to demonstrate and improve impacts

Supervision - 15%

• Under direction from the Community Program Coordinator and Seniors, the Assistant Director for AmeriCorps Programs, supervise, evaluate, coach, and when appropriate, discipline AmeriCorps members
• Provide direction, support, and guidance to AmeriCorps members
• Inform Assistant Director for AmeriCorps Programs of any challenges or issues as appropriate when they arise

Other - 5%

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• 2-4 years of equivalent relevant experience.
• Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AmeriCorps or other national service programming
• Demonstrated excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills
• Experience managing or working with a volunteer program or volunteers, including recruitment, and event coordination
• Professional experience in developing and delivering training programs, as well as providing support to students or volunteers

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams), Zoom and SharePoint

Driving Requirement

Driving a vehicle on behalf of the university is anticipated to be a regular part of this position. Arizona Administrative Code Fleet Safety Policy requires all employees who drive on university business become authorized by submitting Driver's license information for driving record monitoring, and completion of training appropriate to the level of driving performed. The law applies to all faculty, staff, and students who drive personal or university-owned motorized vehicles for any business purpose. This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position. Therefore, per AZ Revised Statute, Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, employment history investigation, degree verification (in some cases) and fingerprinting. Salary

Salary range begins at $44,422. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.

FLSA Status

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.

This is a Classified Staff (CLS) position.
