Job Description
The Education Technology Consortium provides software support and technical services to school districts and charter schools (K-12) around the state of Arizona. This position specifically provides training and support for the Synergy Student Information System used in ETC member schools to handle student demographics, attendance, grading, scheduling, required state and federal reporting, teacher gradebooks, and assessments.
Software Support - 60%
• Provide technical software support to schools throughout Arizona. Supported systems are the Edupoint Synergy product suite including the base product, teacher grade book, assessments, MTSS, online registration and mobile applications. Additionally, the department utilizes and maintains internally developed systems.
• Support users with all areas of the software, including enrollment, scheduling, attendance, grading, grade books, course history, test tracking, security and state reporting.
• Troubleshoot issues and identify areas where training or software changes are needed to assist clients with time saving and/or better utilization of the software.
• Strong understanding of registration, attendance, and areas related to Arizona state reporting.
• Work with new state reporting coordinators to walk through essential tasks for the state reporting cycle.
• Works with state reporting lead to recommend best practices and suggest changes for better efficiency.
Training - 25%
• Develop training and documentation materials, including quick guides, training guides and recorded webinars.
• Provide onsite and web-based training for users on systems.
• Primary trainer for 2-3 software areas for conferences and on-site training.
Data Analysis - 5%
• Use Excel to summarize and analyze data.
• Use ETC Webservices to reconcile data.
• Use ADE Connect to assist clients with permissions, lookup of data and download of reports.
Software Management - 5%
• Contact, track and follow-up with vendor on vendor-specific issues.
• Work with vendors to develop solutions and creative workarounds to software bugs.
Other - 5%
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• On-call duties may be required for this position.
Minimum Qualifications
• Associates or bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; AND,
• 2-4 years of relevant experience; OR,
• Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Synergy or another database management system.
• Strong knowledge in at least 2-3 areas of the Synergy Student Information System or similar SIS.
• Experience using Excel to review and summarize data.
• Teaching or training experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Excellent telephone and personal communication skills.
• Ability to provide quality service to meet customer expectations and maintain internal and external customer relations.
• Ability to work with clients of varied cultural backgrounds.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to teach or train others.
• Comfortable with MS Word and MS Excel.
Driving Requirement
Driving a vehicle on behalf of the university is anticipated to be a regular part of this position. Arizona Administrative Code Fleet Safety Policy requires all employees who drive on university business become authorized by submitting Driver's license information for driving record monitoring, and completion of training appropriate to the level of driving performed. The law applies to all faculty, staff, and students who drive personal or university-owned motorized vehicles for any business purpose. This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position. Salary
Salary range begins at $58,882. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.
FLSA Status
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.
