The City of Chandler Management Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Accounting Specialist. The position is scheduled to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with the ability of working from home 2 days per week upon successfully completing probation.

Who we are
The Accounting Division is responsible for preparing the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and guiding the City’s annual audit. We also oversee the areas of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, special assessments, capital assets, cash management, investments, debt management, and grant accounting; all in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to perform a wide variety of technical and advanced bookkeeping and accounting support duties to maintain accounting and related records for the City and provides education and training to customers. Functional areas will primarily be in cash management and may include accounts receivable, or accounts payable.

Minimum qualifications
• A High School Diploma or GED; and
• 3 years of accounting experience including experience in preparing financial reports; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired qualifications
• Government experience
• Microsoft Excel - Advanced
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
