**Responsibilities**

**Position Summary:**

According to established procedures, cleans and services building areas. Performs a variety of environmental service duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.

**Core Duties:**

+ Cleans assigned area in a timely manner and in accordance with departmental procedures.

+ Cleans and prepares assigned area's dismissals and transfers in a timely manner to expedite patient admissions.

+ Performs linen duties when assigned.

+ Assists in maintaining an inventory of equipment and supplies relative to cleaning activities for par stocking purposes Moves furniture equipment and supplies in and around hospital departments.

+ Keep housekeeping closet locked.

+ Keep housekeeping carts locked.

+ Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum:**

+ Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction.

+ Ability to speak read write and to follow simple written and oral instructions.

+ Must be able to use proper body mechanics when lifting.

+ Able to do work in spite of frequent interruptions.

**Preferred:**

+ Minimum six months experience in similiar hospital or commercial housekeeping environment preferred.

+ Knowledge of hospital housekeeping cleaning procedures and equipment preferred

+ HS or GED

**Pay Range**

$23.00 - $25.16 /hour
