Summary About the Position: Serve as a 15W Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Radio Controlled Model Training Instructor for the 2-13TH Aviation Regiment. The position is located at Fort Huachuca, Az with the US ARMY Aviation Center of Excellence. This is a TERM position NTE 3 years Responsibilities Present formal instruction to support TRADOC approved Programs of Instruction (POI) through lecture, conference, demonstration, and practical exercises. Serve as a Flight Training Instructor for civilian and military personnel for Army Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Radio Controlled Model equipment. Ensure that all training and operations forms and records are completed correctly and on time. Serve as a Training Instructor in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) required ground school aeronautical operations. Serve as a Training Instructor for civilian and military personnel for Army Unmanned Aircraft Systems Radio Controlled Model equipment maintenance. Prepare for and responsible for the development of instructional materials. Administer authorized Federal Aviation Administration FAA examinations. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes: presenting training on the operation and the maintenance of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Radio Controlled Model equipment; developing training material in accordance with approved Programs of Instruction (POI); in areas that may include airspace management, air traffic control, aerodynamics, weather, airfield operations, aviation navigation, radio communications, aero medical factors, flight planning, Aeroscout Operations, or Radio Controlled Model Aircraft UAS maintenance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Unmanned Aircraft Systems or applicable field(s) of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
